Chiang Mai University International College welcomed Prof. Matteo Mario Savino, Coordinator of Erasmus Mundus LEADER Project from the Department of Engineering, University of Sannio, Italy.

            Chiang Mai University International College welcomed Prof. Matteo Mario Savino, Coordinator of Erasmus Mundus LEADER Project from the Department of Engineering, University of Sannio, Italy. During this visit he have gave a special lecture on the subject of “Safety in Industrial Operations with practical tools to monitor and control safety issues” as well as to discuss the possibility of developing a partnership with the International College under the H2020 in INFRASUP (Policy and international cooperation measures for research infrastructures) Project. The lecture was held on 12 March 2017. There was also a meeting, including video conferencing via Skype with the Erasmus Mundus LEADER Project partner universities for the purpose of selecting the second call of the Third Cohort of the LEADER Project on 14 March 2017. The meeting was held in the International College meeting room.

 

Prof. Matteo Mario Savino also gave a presentation about the Erasmus Mundus LEADER Project scholarship. Interested students, lecturers, and researchers came to learn about this project, as well as the Erasmus+ call, Action 2 scholarship, which was purposely made for helping Asian partners in terms of lab empowerment and skills development. The meeting was held on 15 March 2017 in the Chemistry Building, room CB1220, Faculty of Science.

 

The Erasmus Mundus LEADER Project objective is to to strengthen and foster research and educational partnerships with partner universities. The main tasks of LEADER project can be summarized as helping to enhance the career prospects of students, to address the education and professional needs of the targeted countries, and to continue the established cooperation beyond the project; Promoting intercultural understanding, according with the objectives of EU policy, Contributing to the promotion of the EU Higher Education as a centre of excellence in learning for Asian Countries.
